Group Meals (Congregate)

Group meals are available on weekdays at various locations such as senior centers, churches, and restaurants in Northwestern Illinois. Meals served under this program meet at least one-third of the daily recommended dietary allowances established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences and offer a chance for social interaction.

Home-Delivered Meals

For homebound seniors who cannot prepare meals, home-delivered meals ensure they receive nutritious food. The Elderly Nutrition Program works in partnership with Meals on Wheels to deliver nutritious meals along with regular welfare checks. These meals meet the same rigorous nutritional standards as group meals and ensure that seniors are receiving essential nutrients despite their limitations.
