Vision

To empower older adults and their families to live with dignity, independence, and safety through access to high-quality services and resources.

Mission

Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging (NIAAA) is dedicated to meeting the needs of older adults, individuals with disabilities aged 18 to 59 years, and their families by ensuring access to comprehensive services that promote healthy aging, independence, and well-being. We strive to enhance the quality of life for those we serve across our nine-county area by connecting them to the support and resources they need.

Who We Serve

NIAAA proudly serves older adults and adults with disabilities across a nine-county region: Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago. We assist individuals in navigating the aging process and disability support by providing a range of services from health care access to home care support, ensuring that they can live with dignity and security.

We work closely with local public and private organizations as part of the national "aging network," which includes the federal Administration on Aging and the Illinois Department on Aging. Through these partnerships, we ensure older adults in Northwestern Illinois receive vital services such as nutrition programs, caregiving support, health education, and long-term care options.

Our work is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and an Advisory Council, composed of dedicated individuals from our local communities who are passionate about improving the quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities in our region.
